"Pencil" Boone was born and raised in Michigan. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at camp when he was 18 years old. Shortly after, he felt the Lord calling him to a Christian College. He attended Liberty University, where he ran cross country and indoor and outdoor track. He met his wife Martha at Liberty and God called him and his wife into missions in the fall of Pencil’s senior year.

Eight weeks after graduation, Pencil was on the island of Bonaire in the Southern Caribbean serving with Trans World Radio. Pencil and Martha would serve overseas with TWR for nearly 20 years in Bonaire, Swaziland, Guam and Australia. Pencil served as TWR’s Global Youth Culture specialist, speaking around the world at conferences, helping government leaders, pastors, youth workers and laymen understand the needs of the global youth culture and how to reach today’s youth.

Pencil and Martha have two grown children and have served with Crosspoint Ministries since January 2004. Pencil has been the Pastor of Thrive Student Ministries since June 2009.
